Amitabh Bachchan Told Abhishek Is Maturing

Amitabh Bachchan says "Paa" was crucial for his production company AB Corp and says son Abhishek has done a remarkable job as a producer by wrapping up the film within a Rs.15 crore (Rs.150 million) budget.

"Any film that a producer makes is crucial for him financially. And we completely recognise that. We can only hope that 'Paa' does well. This time Abhishek has managed all the production hassles and I am glad he has done it with a high level of maturity, " Amitabh told in an interview on phone from Mumbai.

"We had set out to make the film within an estimated budget of Rs.15 crore and Abhishek managed it in Rs.14.75 crore. This, in times when movie budgets are soaring to Rs. 50 crore.

"I think he has done a remarkable job. I give huge credit to him for making the film without compromising on the quality or the shooting locations. God willing, it will pay off well, " he said.

The real life father-son duo star in reverse roles in the film.

Amitabh says he was "quite well-behaved and obedient" on the sets unlike the "troublesome child" he was called by Abhishek who plays his father.

"Abhishek must have been fooling around when he said I was a troublesome kid. In fact, I was quite a well-behaved and obedient child (on the sets). I followed all instructions of the script and did as much mischief as the script and director Balki required from me. It was all in good fun, " Amitabh said.

In "Paa", Amitabh will be seen as Auro, a 13-year-old suffering from progeria, a rare condition which causes premature ageing among children. While Abhishek plays his dad, Vidya Balan essays the role of his mother.

Amitabh, 67, had to wear over eight pieces of specially crafted clay pieces designed by international make-up artist Stephan Dupuis for his role and says he was pampered well during the entire process.

"I was quite pampered on the sets. Actually they (unit members) were more worried about the makeup as it was very tedious. I used to have a lot of problem in breathing, eating and used to feel itchy - but everyone was extremely courteous.

"I couldn't eat properly, couldn't speak and liquid supplies were given to me using straws. Everyone was quite nice to me and pampered me, " he said.

But isn't he pampered much at home as well?

"Well! Of course, I am. But for 'Paa', I was really pampered like a kid, " he quipped.

Asked about the experience of playing his son's son in the film, Amitabh said: "It was fine. It wasn't tough. Actually, once you decide that this is a role you have to play in a film, the father-son relationship takes a backseat.

"We just played our parts. For an actor, I think it's all about catching the right attitude of his character and that's what we have both tried to do."

Amitabh is all praise for Abhishek's acting skills.

"I think Abhishek is maturing with each film. He really suited the role he has played in 'Paa' and I must say he has done a marvellous job."

Amitabh is being lauded by film critics and industry members for his portrayal of Auro. Many have called it "awesome", "amazing" and his "best performance till date". But Amitabh said humbly: "I'd rather wait for public opinion."

After "Paa", which is releasing Dec 4, Amitabh will be seen in Ram Gopal Varma's "Rann" and Leena Yadav's "Teen Patti".

As of now, he can be seen as a host on reality show "Bigg Boss 3", which airs on the channel Colors.

Aamir Khan Is Designing A Chatroom In His Own Way

The perfectionist in Aamir Khan has yet again proved the credentials of his title. He doesn’t seem to be pleased with the current technology to handle the traffic in the chat rooms. So, he has decided to design a chat room his way. But what is the reason for this disappointment?

Aamir recently conducted a fans chat on the occasion of music launch of 3 Idiots on the Internet and during the chat he discovered something, which compounded the reason for his misery.

To which he exclaims, “The big challenge is to be able to take the volume of traffic. By the time we finished with the lobby and I tried to enter my chat room, I discovered to my horror that I couldn’t, too much of traffic, I was told. So the technical team had to quickly create a new chat room for me.”

However, Aamir soon comes with a solution and says, “One day I will be able to organize a chat the way I imagine.”

Salman Khan's Dad Walked Out On Veer's Screening

Recently, Salman Khan hosted a trial of Veer for his father, Salim Khan. Salman was waiting to see how his father would react to the film but the latter simply left the screening without a word.

Thinking that his father perhaps didn’t like the film, Salman got worried. He was overwhelmed when his father called him at 2am to tell him that the film as well as Salman was outstanding.

The actor then got nostalgic about the way his father had reacted to his debut, ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’. Even then, Salim saab had walked out of the screening wordlessly and gone home and told Sallu that he would get cult status with the film and the only one who could mess it up would be him.

Remembering his father’s advice is essential at this point as Salman is counting on Veer to be a hit and can’t afford to make any mistakes.

Hrithik Roshan Was A True Friend Of Farhan Akhtar In Start

Farhan Akhtar is delighted to have Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol as his co-stars in Zoya Akhtar’s new film.

“Having two friends like Hrithik and Abhay Deol to do this male bonding film with me is a blessing. Abhay I’ve known from the time he stepped into my role in Reema Kagti’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. I get along famously with both of them. So shooting this male-bonding film with Hrithik and Abhay in Spain should be loads of fun.”

Continues Farhan, “Hrithik has been a true friend from the start. He not only did that cameo in Zoya’s Luck By Chance he also agreed to accommodate Zoya’s new film. I start directing Don 3 from September 2010. And Zoya’s film had to be completed before that. Hrithik adjusted his dates accordingly.”

Male bonding has always been a strong theme in Farhan’s career as a director and actor.

“That’s true,” admits Farhan. “But no one will say Zoya’s film with me, Hrithik and Abhay will is in any way similar to my Dil Chahta Hai or to Rock On. Zoya’s is a different zone of male bonding. I’ve done just one scene with Hrithik in Zoya’s Luck By Chance. Now I’ve a chance to do a whole film with him. Both Hrithik and Abhay are actors I admire greatly.”

Zoya Akhtar’s second directorial venture wrongly titled Running With The Bulls in a part of the media goes on the floors from April (and not January as reported) with the dream team of Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol.

Sonam Kappor & Abhay Deol Are In A Fire Scare?

Recently, a fire broke out on the sets of Sonam Kapoor's Aisha. Luckily there were no major damages and no one was grievously injured.

On Thursday afternoon, the incident happened because of an electrical problem at Filmistan Studios in Goregaon where the shooting was on.

However, the fire wasn’t of great magnitude and was controlled within 15 minutes. As there wasn’t much damage on the sets, the shooting will resume in two days time.

According to a fire brigade control officer, the fire damaged the curtains and electrical wire on the sets. For precaution sake, four to five trucks were dispatched.

Aamir Khan Willn't Sign Any Film Upto One Year Now

It looks like it will be another year at least after 3 Idiots and his own home productions Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly before Aamir Khan will sign another new film.

Since the release of Ghajini in December 2008 Aamir has not signed on the dotted line for any project. In fact Aamir had decided to take one full year off after Ghajini to rejuvenate himself. After the tough physical and emotional preparation for Ghajini, Aamir just wanted to relax and spend time with his wife and children.

That’s precisely what he has done for the last one year. But now Aamir would be taking one more year off. This next one year would be devoted to putting his three home productions in order.

Says a source, “Aamir had earlier decided to take one year off. But now he has decided to extend his sabbatical by one more year.

Filmmakers who have approached him with projects have been told that Aamir intends to take approximately one more year to supervise the post-production and final look of the three films that he has produced in 2009, namely Abhinay Deo’s Delhi Belly, Anushka Rizvi’s The Falling and Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat.”

Aamir feels all three projects need serious fine-tuning and have been delayed because he has been busy finishing and promoting 3 Idiots.

Says the source, “The only way Aamir feels his three productions can be completed and released in 2010 is if he sets aside all his own acting assignments to look into them. So he isn’t signing any films in 2010 either.”

Says the source, “It requires guts to say no to the best roles going in Bollywood and to a reported fee of approximately Rs 30 crores per film. But Aamir suffers no security pangs about not signing films. He told a friend he will work at his own pace, no matter what the temptation or provocation to take on extra work.”

Saif Ali Khan Was A Bad Actor When He Started

Saif ali Khan tells that he tries to re-invent himself as an actor with every film of his.

Do you think Kurbaan has not clicked at the box-office, because the masses seem to prefer comedies these days?
Though I am aware of the fact that today everybody makes comedies; there is nothing wrong in being serious. The flavors keep on changing as far as Bollywood is concerned.

Some films set the trend, whereas some follow the trend. I feel that because comedy is the flavor of the season, it is good that Kurbaan has been released now.

I readily agreed to be a part of Kurbaan, because a filmmaker like Karan will not approach any actor unless and until he has a well-etched role for him. I also knew that Rensil ’Silva was a director to watch out for.

How was the experience of playing a character like Ehsaan in Kurbaan?
I liked playing the character of Ehsaan in Kurbaan. Ehsaan looks like a very intelligent, nice, warm kind of a guy but is actually deeply tormented and quite dangerous too.

I should say that it was fun to play a character who is not what he seems to be. As an actor, you do many films and enact various parts. It was nice for me as an actor to let the background music communicate many times.

It is an anti performance and hence it was fun playing it. I made it a point to use the medium of cinema to communicate.

As an actor do you feel it is essential to relate to your role?
Though I feel that it is very essential to relate to your role as an actor, I should confess that I did not relate to the role of Langda that I played in Omkara.

However all said and done I should also say that Ehsaan’s reactions could be the same as that of mine. I tried to understand the headspace of the guy. I thought that it was an interesting role. It is interesting to note that though Kurbaan was a film with the backdrop of terrorism; it was quite an anti terrorist film.

What is Rensil D’Silva’s contribution to the film as a director?
This is the right time for some one from the ad world like Rensil, who has the right sensibility, to make his bow in films. With Rensil at the helm of responsibility, I knew that Kurbaan could not have been the regular Hindi film with a terrorism background.

What do you think about your experiment as an actor vis-a-vis films like Being Cyrus and Love Aaj Kal?
I am happy that my experiment at taking up films of different genres like Being Cyrus and Love Aaj Kal has been received well. As an actor, I try to re-invent myself with every new film.

I like to work with intelligent actors who know what they are doing. It is just my gut instinct. I have learnt from my mum’s career. I am of the opinion that people like the fact that a mainstream actor is trying to do something even if the film does not click at the box office.

Can you elucidate?
Sometimes if you are off beat, you can really get creative. I feel that it is time to do something new, something that people do not associate you with. Like the role of the Sardar I did in Love Aaj Kal. The entire credit ought to go to Imtiaz Ali for having had the implicit faith in me that I could carry off my role in the film.

What is your role as a producer?
My idea, as a producer, is to make good films. Why should we ask people who are intelligent to go to Hollywood? Why should only mediocre people be there in Bollywood?

I am happy, as an actor as far as Bollywood is concerned and have no plans whatsoever to try my luck in Hollywood. In any case, I feel that Bollywood is a fun term and should not be taken seriously.

After Tashan, did you agree to do Kurbaan just to be together with Kareena?
In Tashan I was cast opposite my red belt since Akshay Kumar was cast opposite Kareena. Kareena and I do not have to do a film to be together. I can always visit her on her sets and she can also do vice versa.

She is very professional. I still remember her as an intense actress who was very spontaneous in L.O.C. She is very focused and controlled as an actress.

In what way have you grown as an actor?
I confess that though Kareena was not bad when she had started her career with Refugee, I was quite bad. I have grown over the years and groomed myself as an actor. I am learning every day and growing.

You learn from all kinds of situations- some obvious, some not so obvious. I’d say that films like Parineeta, Dil Chahta Hai were milestones in my career while Yeh Dillagi was the turning point in my career

Do you hold any grudge against any director who did not use your potential in your initial stages as an actor?
It was not that the directors did not recognize the potential in me earlier. To tell you the truth, there was no potential in me earlier. Language of cinema has changed with Dil Chahta Hai.

Only those who are frustrated and unsuccessful who hold a grudge against directors who had thrown them out of their films in the early stages. I do not hold any grudge against Rahul Rawail who threw me out of Bekhudi in which I was cast opposite Kajol and replaced me with Kamal Sadanha.

Neha Dhupia Is Playing A Second Fiddle To Katrina Kaif?

Neha Dhupia has been around for more than six years now and has done films as diverse as "Mithya" and "Julie". But she neither believes in boasting about her body of work nor is she keen to approach leading actors and filmmakers to rope her in for their films.

"This is the way I have been throughout my career. I am not the type who would go and tell everyone what I have done in the past," Neha told.

After having debuted opposite Ajay Devgn in "Qayamat" (2003), she has worked in close to 30 movies.

"What's the point in doing that when you have your work to speak for itself? This is not to say that I am less ambitious than anyone. I work as hard as anyone else. It's just that I can't serve myself on a platter," she said.

This is the reason why she is not complaining even if she is playing a supporting role in films like "Singh Is Kinng" and just released "De Dana Dan" with Katrina Kaif as the leading lady opposite Akshay Kumar.

"There is a thin distinction between lead and supporting roles today. You may not be a romantic lead in a film, but then you have to see the kind of value you bring to a film.

"For example, when Vipul approached me for 'Singh Is Kinng', I asked him why he was giving me that role. When he told me that he could visualise only me to be doing that role, I took it as a backhanded compliment."

Same held true for "De Dana Dan" where Priyadarshan felt that he could see a naughty opportunist girl in her. In the film, Neha plays a club singer who has a 'bindaas' attitude towards life and is a 'huge advantage taker'.

"I am happy that he felt so. My role is quite spunky in 'De Dana Dan'. There is a lot of spark in it.

"When it comes to commercial cinema, I have to thank people like Vipul, whose sensibilities I completely agree with, and Priyan Sir, with whom I have worked in 'Chup Chup Ke' and 'Garam Masala' earlier. They have always approached me whenever there is something good in the offing," Neha said.

However, she has the trio of Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Vinay Pathak to thank for the complete shift in mindset that she went through at a crucial phase of her career.

"These are the people responsible for opening up different avenues for me. By working in movies like 'Mithya', 'Raat Gayi Baat Gayi', 'I Am 24' and 'Pappu Can't Dance Saala', there is an altogether different dimension that I have been able to explore.

"I owe a lot to them," said Neha who is happy to be juggling between hardcore commercial mainstream movies and new age offbeat cinema.

Amitabh Bachchan Told Shahrukh Is A Funny Man

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan says Shah Rukh Khan left him in a jovial mood after the latter called him to confirm his presence at the premiere of upcoming film "Paa".

"Shah Rukh has remained with me in the late afternoon. He is a very funny man and shakes me into joviality when I inform him about the premiere and his absolute presence there. He tells me, 'He is already there, black suited and with anticipation of seeing 'Paa'," Amitabh posted on his blog.

"Aamir too communicates today and confirms his presence," he added.

The cast and crew of "Paa" - including Amitabh, Abhishek and director R. Balakrishnan have major plans for the film's premiere Dec 3 in Mumbai.

Amitabh plays a 12-year-old progeria patient in "Paa" and he had to stick on several pieces of specially crafted clay to get the right look for the movie. The disease causes premature ageing among children.

International make-up artist Stephan Dupuis designed Big B's look and the megastar had to sit for five-six hours for the make-up.

The 67-year-old says he is now anxious about how the audience and critics will react to the film.

"Slowly but surely the jig saw puzzle will begin to unfold. The test of all our hours and hours of effort at the film shall now be up for scrutiny. And within two hours and 14 minutes the verdict shall be passed. Once passed, shall remain passed. Such is the destiny of those that participate in this wondrous game of filmmaking," he said.

The film is releasing Dec 4.

Sameera Reddy Shocked On Her Own Matrimonial Ad

Sexy Sam, recently, came across a matrimonial ad which completely baffled her.

Actually a 'shaadi' posted it specifying all the details that matched Sameera’s - her birth date, her vital stats, her family background and even her profession. And the way the ad was formatted, it gave the impression that Sameera is desperate to find a hubby for herself.

"She was totally shocked that the ad had her details like her date of birth, her vital statistics and family information. Also, they put up a picture of hers, saying she's looking for a groom. It looked like an authentic matrimonial ad, " the source told a tabloid.

But, all this turned out to be false alarm when Sameera herself confirmed that the ad hasn’t been put up by her. "Do you think I need to go to a website or take its support to declare that I want to get married," she asked the prying journos.

Big B Caught On Camera Doing Moneky Dance?

About 40 unsuspecting passersby and strangers of all ages on the streets of Mumbai were captured last week trying to ape Big B’s zany ‘Monkey dance’ steps on ad- maverick turned first-time filmmaker Balki’s new music video, which hopes to promote the by-now popular dance step from Paa among kids and grownups alike.

Apparently, it was Paa producer Abhishek Bachchan’s idea to just go out on the road and capture people aping the Monkey step, expertly and clumsily but with genuine feeling.

Reveals Balki, “The idea to record random people on candid camera doing Auro’s steps did come from Abhishek. And I liked the idea immensely. Much better than getting a rehearsed group of enthusiasts to do the steps.

We went out with the camera and found a surprisingly large number of people who were trying to do the Monkey Steps. We have them on camera as part of a music video we’ll air on television soon. We’re hoping they wouldn’t mind being caught with their guards down.”

The genesis of the Big B’s Monkey Steps is interesting.

Says Balki, “I wanted Auro to have his own peculiar dance steps, with King Kong’s beating of the chest, etc. Our choreographers Bosco-Caesar came up with the perfect little jig for Auro.”

Interestingly Shimit Amin’s Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year has its own little jig billed as the ‘Rocket Step’ for Ranbir Kapoor.

So this December it’s the 67-year old Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Monkey Steps’ vying for dance space with 27-year old Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rocket Steps’.

We Rarely See The Hidden Side Of Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan has a sweet, caring side to him, which comes out sometimes.

Recently, when he was going about promoting his film, he got a few vada pavs packed for the day. He and his PR person went ahead in the SUV while his remaining staff followed in another car, where the vada pav bag was kept.

As the day proceeded, Aamir realized that while he had eaten his lunch, his PR person hadn’t eaten anything. He then asked his chauffeur to call the driver of the other car and tell him to stop.

He then asked the chauffeur to get the vada pavs and asked the PR person to eat away. They proceeded only after the girl finished her lunch. Now, isn’t that just sweet?

Priyanka Chopra Is Alone In The Middle of Sea?

Imagine you are on a boat, sailing in the middle of the sea from where you can only see the serene beauty of the deep blue ocean with the gushing cold breezes caressing your face...

Apparently, the unit of the film ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is basking in the delight of this heavenly pleasure in the middle of work!

The lead actress of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, Priyanka Chopra has been constantly expressing the delight of her shoots that is scheduled amid the ocean.

“I'm currently shooting on a boat for Anjaana Anjaani in the middle of the ocean pretty much the whole day.”

‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is a forthcoming Bollywood film directed by ‘Salaam Namaste’ and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ famed Siddharth Anand, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead.

Ranbir Kapoor & Imran Khan Aren't Best Friends Now

At present, Imran and Ranbir Kapoor's career graphs are heading in totally different direction. While grand success of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani has changed the Ranbir's Bollywood story forever, Imran is still struggling to find some moderate success for himself.

No wonder their so-called camaraderie has taken a hit as well and Ranbir is no longer enthused about working with Imran.

Talking to a leading daily he says, “Imran and I did one gig together at the Filmfare awards but we haven’t worked together after that. We have been offered a whole lot of stuff but the offers never went beyond the preliminary stage. I don’t think Imran and I will be working together in any capacity in the near future.

By God’s grace, I am in a position to do solo-hero films with terrific actresses and directors for the best banners. I am a selfish actor. I would rather have a film to myself than share it with another actor.”

Ask him if anything has gone wrong with their great friendship and her retorts, "Imran and I are friends but not the best of friends. Where is the time for friendship? I don’t even have time for my parents.

My only close friend in the film industry is Ayan Mukerji. I selfishly call my parents to my outdoor shootings to spend time with them. However, they avoid joining me on outdoors.

They know what it’s like to be distracted. They have been there, done that. I’m doing what I love. So, no complaints.”

Anushka Sharma Couldn't Forget Shahrukh Khan's Smell?

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is history but Anushka Sharma yet to overcome her SRK crush. The girl is still hanging on to the memories of working with the ‘Baadshah’ and cannot stop herself from speaking about him at any given opportunity.

Recently, in an interview, the girl said, “One thing I can't forget about SRK is his smell. He smells superb. He used to smell different each time. I would be like, 'Wow man! Shah Rukh, you smell so good'.”

The Bangalorean beauty went on to add that SRK remains an enigma to her. The more she tried to understand him, the more mysterious he remained.

“If you think you know Shah Rukh Khan, you don't. That's the thing about him. He can always keep you guessing. Each day I used to be like - ‘Okay, he's like this, oh no he's not like that’. Every day he used to be a new person for me. He's just so mysterious, yaar,” Anushka revealed.

Bollywood Heroines Commenting On Kasab

Bollywood celebrities say 26/11 was an event that united Mumbai residents and should never be forgotten. Be it Akshay Kumar or Aamir Khan or Priyanka Chopra, they all look back at the terror attacks a year ago with sorrow and remember those who lost their lives.

Sonam Kapoor: Remember this day. Look at it not with grief but with faith, as 'faith is the only light that lights the darkness into dawn' (Rabindranath Tagore).

Have faith that our country is strong and the people who lead us will make it stronger, have faith that there is a god and he knows what is best. Learn from past mistakes and know that humanity and goodness always prevail. What does not kill us will make us stronger.

Akshay Kumar: It's unfortunate that something like this happened. My wife Twinkle was there at the Taj that day. Fortunately, she had left the premise at around 6 p.m. A few positive things that happened after the unfortunate incidents are the unity of people in the city. We all should never forget this and always be united to fight back.

Suniel Shetty: People have now started showing their opinions very loudly and we are now working together for a terror free Mumbai and a terror free India.

Aamir Khan: It was a very tragic event, but the tragedy brought the people of Mumbai together and closer. We also saw the bravery of our police forces and security agencies. It was a sad thing and I hope we learn from it.

R. Madhavan: When it was happening I became very emotional. I saw the entire thing on television. Once it was over, I thought big decisions would be taken and things would change. But it was very sad to see that this year the voter turnout in Mumbai was even less than last time.

Neha Dhupia: I agree completely that somewhere this has made us realise that we all should be human and care about human lives. This was very unfortunate and the government should see to it that we don't go through this again.

Raveena Tandon: It is pointless blaming the government or security forces for lapses in the 26/11 attacks. The question is what have the citizens done to counter such a challenge in future? Have we become the change that we want to see in others?

Celebrities also put forth their opinion on Twitter.

Preity Zinta: To live in one's heart is not to die! Here's remembering all those who lost their lives in the Mumbai attacks. We will not forget.

Priyanka Chopra: 26/11... a day to remember our losses and promise ourselves a better future.

Dino Morea: One year since Mumbai was attacked, I am never cynical, but all the protest marches, voicing anger etc, what's changed? Have no faith in our system, how do we change it, and the people who run it? God bless India.

Vishal Dadlani: To the soldiers and policemen who saved us, gave their lives for us, thank you. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, god bless you, and may he keep you at his right hand.

Bollywood Comments About Kasab

Bollywood stars remember 26/11 and tell where they were last year on this day...

Bipasha Basu: “I was shooting for Aa Dekhe Zara at Royal Palms on 26/11. While I was on the way back I saw the Vile Parle blast and was stranded in the crazy chaos.

We somehow drove through the melee to reach home that night. This year on 26/11 I’d be rehearsing for a show. I want terrorism to be wiped off the face of the earth. Is that asking for too much?”

Amitabh Bachchan: “I was in Mumbai on 26/11 last year. I will be in the city again this year.”

Hema Malini: “I was in Mumbai. Someone told me to watch television. I couldn’t believe what I saw. 26 November used to be associated with so many wonderful things. It is a meat-less day and a friend’s wedding anniversary.

Now the joy of that day is gone forever. Now 26/11 is a day of terror forever. I’ll be in Turkey shooting this year. I will remember the day with a heavy heart. My love to all those who lost dear ones on that day.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh: “I remember I was shooting in at Film City on 26/11 last year. I wish we could change that day in Mumbai. I wish people who lost their loved ones would get back their happiness. This 26/11 I’ll pray for the soul of the dead and hope that their families’ wounds would heal.”

Pooja Bedi: “I was at home on 26/11, 2008 watching the horror unfold on tv. This year I’m hosting a 26/11 memorial function by the DVK Foundation in London at the Kensington Palace. It is to support victims of terror attacks and to provide financial assistance to families.”

Imtiaz Ali: “I remember I came home from a late-night film.I got messages to switch on the tv. Then I was watching horrified for the next 70 hours.

When we relive that horror this year we have to be sensitive and not remind the families of 26/11 victims just to create media content. On the other hand this year media should ascertain from the authorities and tell the common man what he must do if a similar situation were to arise again.”

Celina Jaitly: “I was saved from the attack on Trident hotel by 15 minutes. It’s sad that after the ghastly 26/11 attack the Indians’ anger and outrage lasted only a few days. Qasab is still in jail and everyone has moved on without making the correction in our security system that made the attack possible. This is alarming.”

Adnan Sami: “I remember I was heading towards the Taj for a Japanese meal on 26/11. My song ‘Mumbai City’ with Jermaine Jackson contains my tribute to the spirit of 26/11. We won’t go down into the night, no matter what.”

Rahul Khanna: “Last year on 26/11 I was traveling out of the country and was glued to the live tv coverage feeling helpless watching home hometown under attack. I hope all the brave innocent souls we lost are at peace and in a better place.”

Tusshar Kapoor: “I was in Cape Town shooting when 26/11 happened. Ideally I’d never want such a horror to revisit Mumbai. But life is not about ideal situations.”

Arshad Warsi: “I was shooting in Wai. I drove into Mumbai and out on 26/11 last year. I’m going to a charity dinner hosted by Prince Michael in memory of people who lost their lives on 26/11.”

Dino Morea: “I was in Los Angeles on 26/11 last year. Watched it all on tv. If I could reverse the clock I’d love to wipe out the horror of that day and make it just another normal day in Mumbai. This year on 26/11 I want Kasab to be sentenced. What is this game that is being played regarding his hand in 26/11?”

Kabir Bedi: “Last year my companion Parveen and I were at the Juhu Marriott receiving frantic calls from my children Pooja and Adam begging us to go home.

Even the Press at the event only talked of gang-land shootings in South Bombay but we took the children's advice. I'd have liked it if the terrorists had sunk to the bottom of the sea before landing. This year I am a hosting a charity fundraiser in London, along with Pooja, for the benefit of the victims of 26/11.”

Abbas Tyrewala: “I was in Chennai working on my music on 26/11 last year. There was cyclone that day, almost as if the elements were reflecting on the darkness and turmoil in Mumbai. This 26th I am tempted to be at the Taj for dinner.

But maybe that’s just being stubbornly sentimental. Maybe I’ll just say a prayer for those who were murdered by pathetic, desperate imbeciles, misled by enemies of God and humanity.”

Neha Dhupia: “On 26/11 last year I was in a movie premiere. Everyone started to leave. That was very unusual. Little did we know what was happening outside. Wish it had never happened.”

Manoj Bajpai: “I had just returned from Malaysia on 26/11 last year. I’ll be shooting in Dubai this year.”

Sonu Sood: “I was in an event at the Marriot on 26/11 last year when suddenly everyone panicked. I didn’t realize anything was seriously amiss until I saw the news. Nothing worse could’ve happened to Mumbai. I feel it’s time we collectively stood up against terrorism.”

Shreyas Talpade: “I was in Cape Town last year when it happened. As a token of respect to the people who lost their lives, we should torture and kill that bast..d Qasab.

Instead we’re behaving like a bunch of idiots trying to prove he isn’t guilty. I really feel ashamed. Let’s hang Qasab for what he has done. It doesn’t matter if he is Indian or Pakistani.”
